 After George H. W. Bush left office in 1993 he moved to Houston, Texas and has a summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine. He spent a few years organizing his memoirs and working in his autobiography which he never published. He and his wife Barbara Bush serve on the board of visitors of M.D. Anderson hospital. speaking tours earned him substantial fees from 1992 to 1996. Then he cut back to spend time his wife and grandchildren. At the age of 74 in 1999 he parachuted from an airplane just for the fun of it for the first time after World War II. He enjoys fishing with his grandchildren, and teaching them about the sport and talking about life. He got to see his son George W. Bush become the governor of Texas and the president of the United States in the year 2000. And he also got to see his other son John (Jeb) become the governor of Florida. George H. W. Bush has visit many country In his free time.  He also supervised the construction of his center for presidential studies and his presidential library housed at Texas a & m university. He named it the George Bush Presidential Library. This library is dedicated to sponsoring programs and exhibits and a educational environment where every student could have the chance to learn more about the nations past. Also this program has many activities for the family. The tenth Nimitz-class aircraft carrier will be named USS George H. W. Bush when it's launched in 2009. |
