Columbia — Young Obama attended Columbia University in New York and graduated in 1983 with a degree in political science. 

In the Community — Chicago was the next step.  There he became involved in helping people “in need”.  As a community organizer, he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those in poor communities.

Harvard — In 1991, Obama earned a law degree from Harvard Law School where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review.  He was the first  Afro-American to hold this esteemed position. Upon graduating from Harvard, Obama returned to Chicago and his work as a community organizer.
