Taft lived in Cincinnati, Ohio son of Alphonso & Louisa (Torrey)
Taft. William had two brothers, one sister, and two half brothers.
Taft received his early education at a local public school. In 1874 he entered
Yale college and graduated in 1878, he ranked 2nd in his class. He received
a law degree from Cincinnati College in 1880. On June 19, 1886 he
married Helen Herron. In 1909 he was elected president he ran against
Woodrow Wilson. Taft's vice-president was James S. Sherman.
Taft was The 1st president with a presidential car. On March 8, 1930 Taft
died in Washington D.C.
