Harry S. Truman’s Retirement
by Adam and Jessi
We love Harry S. Truman!
Harry S. Truman did a lot of very interesting things during his retirement.  His term of being president lasted from 1945 to January 20, 1953.  When he first retired, he knew it would be hard to become a normal citizen again.  The first thing he decided to do was go home to Independence, Missouri.  He loved his home town, and he loved his home.  Some of the other things he did during his retirement was travel and frequently spoke with groups of young people about civic and community responsibilities. He also liked to play cards, horseshoes, and the piano.  He enjoyed exercising and fishing too.  All in all, Harry S. Truman really enjoyed his life of retirement.
