Dear Mr. Swenson,

Our class is writing to let you know that we followed you during this year's Iditarod. We are a 3rd grade class in the southwest part of Virginia. The nearest small city is Galax, VA and the nearest large city is Roanoke, VA which is about 70 miles away. The Internet has made it possible for us to view the race in Alaska. We have read two books about dog-sled racing and we have researched the history of the Iditarod. We even did a class presentation in front of the parents to teach them about the Iditarod.

We read all the biographies of the mushers and my class chose you to follow. They were very impressed that you were a 5-time winner. We kept track of where you were at each day.

You did an outstanding job, and we are very proud of you. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
