Dear Mr. Gallea,

My name is Emily Puckett. Congratulations on finishing the Iditarod race. I followed the race for part of my schoolwork, and chose you as the musher I watched. We enjoyed seeing the updates from your website, especially when there were pictures of you.

The project I enjoyed most was soap carving. I carved a sled from a bar of soap. I will send you a picture of it when we get our film back. I liked moving the red arrow over my map, as you went down the race trail. Some of the town names were really funny to me. I liked the name "Koyuk" the best.

I also enjoyed learning about animals from Alaska. My favorite animal from there is the polar bear. We got to see one when I went to Sea World with my class. I also wrote a story about some polar bears, Sarah and Alisa.

Congratulations again on your wonderful accomplishment. I plan to watch the race again next year!!
