Dear Mr. Halter,

You did a great job in the race. We are really glad that you finished in 5th place out of 55 people finishing. When we first started tracking your progress, you were in 60th place at Yentna Station Roadhouse. As the days went by, we watched you get higher and higher in position. We are so proud of you!

We have learned so much about the Iditarod. We learned that sled dog racing is a team sport and that mushers truly love their dogs. We also think that mushers are brave. Mushers need to believe in themselves and their abilities. We like how mushers trust their team.

We would like to know how you go and collect all of the dogs that you had to drop? Do you fly your dogs home? How many dogs do you have altogether and what are their names? We live in California and it is 70 degrees here. Did you get really cold up there? How many layers of clothing do you wear?

Thanks for answering our questions and we look forward to watching you and your team race next year.
