This is an update of an issue done two years ago that featured the best in online resources to augment your instructional materials you already have in the classroom.   • Apple Learning Interchange - http://ali.apple.com/
    Technology news, resources, curriculum, projects, units, chats, forums, staff development - known as ALI, this free site boasts close to 10,000 subscribers and it is updated daily. If you're a MAC fan - and even if you're a loyal PC user - you need to check out this site for yourself.
  • Community Learning Network - http://www.cln.org/
    It's amazing to see how one of the older, more established sites is evolving over time online. Designed to help K-12 teachers integrate technology into their classrooms, there are nearly 6,000 links to educational WWW sites, as well as ten of their own useful local sites here at CLN.
  • Connecting Students - http://www.connectingstudents.com/
    David Leahy's online effort to bring technology and thematic instruction together through recommended links and original materials. The Themes section and the Harry Potter CyberGuide are two notable links you may wish to peruse on your visit.
  • Education Planet - http://www.educationplanet.com/
    Here's a comprehensive web directory of education resources from K through college, including teacher and student views. If you like education directories, also check out EduHound <http://www.eduhound.com/> and ProTeacher <http://www.proteacher.com/> for comparison.
  • Educational CyberPlayground - http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/TOC.asp
    The clean, simple design allows the user to easily find lesson plans, teacher resources, themes, units and child-appropriate links which help teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. Note all the different views offered to make the most of the resources presented here.
  • Eisenhower National Clearinghouse - http://www.enc.org/
    Tying in technology literacy with math and science instruction, ENC is the premier online website for math and science teachers at all levels. Register to take full advantage of this site, including the ENC Focus Magazine. The Digital Dozen and Innovative Curriculum Materials are two great sections on the site.
  • Digital Education Network - http://www.actden.com/
    DEN offers wonderful ideas and approaches for using the Internet as part of your instruction - updated weekly! Individual "DEN's" include Math, Writing, News, Graphics, Astronomy, the Internet and TOEFL, and there are tutorials too for apps such as Front Page and Outlook Express.
  • Distance Learning Resource Network - http://www.dlrn.org/
    Funded by the U.S. Department of Education Star Schools Program, this site promotes the use of distance education in school classrooms. It even offers a toll free number to contact the DLRN directly with your questions and ideas. Note the links for K-12 students and educators in particular.
  • Integrating the Net into the Math/Science Classroom - http://www.4forefront.com/scimath.html
    Sarah A. DiRuscio presents the six levels of Internet use in the classroom and then leads you into the rich Internet resources in Math and Science that can make the difference in your classroom instruction. N.B. her extra recommendations for links and resources sandwiched across the page.
  • National School Network Exchange - http://nsn.bbn.com/
    The NSN is a partnership of schools, museums, informal education centers, universities, research and development groups, corporations, small businesses, publishers, network service providers, and members of communities working on building state-of-the-art applications for networking in education.
  • Third Millennium Education Project - http://www.millennaire.com/intro.html
    The Third Millennium Project is a comprehensive look at technology resources on the web - take some time to sift through this site and you will surf away with something you can use. Click on the Third Millennium Classroom link to go straight to recommended resources.
  • Wired Learning - http://www.kn.pacbell.com/wired/
    Pac Bell has hosted this site for a number of years now, and it boasts the best representative sampling of what's good about electronic instruction anywhere. There are exemplary WebQuests and Web-based lessons and projects, as well as the unparalleled Blue Web'n and Filamentality. If you've never been, start here!
