Inventors 2006

As we launch the 2006 edition of the Build a Better Mousetrap Project, I am updating the popular inventors and inventions issue of the ITN. This year the Mousetrap Project http://surfaquarium.com/mousetrap/ is designed to integrate with the ABC series American Inventor. Participating classes will help to develop the criteria for evaluating inventions, come up with their own idea for an invention, and develop and test it based on the criteria developed for the project. Registration is free and is now open through March 31, 2006 at http://surfaquarium.com/mousetrap/register.htm. Please join us!

The Build a Better Mousetrap Project is one of the Surfaquarium's multiple intelligence-based projects. Through the study of invention and the creation of original product designs, students complete all the steps of the scientific method and apply their understanding of physics, simple machines, measurement and problem solving through a real world application of their knowledge.

Tomorrow's edition of the Digital Dozen Newsletter http://surfaquarium.com/D12/ will feature more than a dozen of the best Web-based resources on Harry Potter. It's not too late to subscribe and have it in your mailbox hot off the cyber-press! Subscribe today!
