Hi Walter,
We are a home educating family from Queensland / Australia. 2 of my children are following the race this year.We heard about it in January from a fellow home educator .I thought it would be the perfect fit to start the school year of as my son loves huskies. Pity there is no Australian contingent this year. I have heard there has been previously, something for us to check out. We painted the map on our glass sliding doors and will add bits of information as we go. There is sled racing here, but apparently they have to use something called a rig (it has wheels and a bicycle handles) where there is no snow, they race in all states but only sled in Victoria and New South Wales up in the mountains.
