Ms. Simpson's Class Map
Dear Walter,
We have been enjoying this project so much! Some of our major activities have included making the map w/stars (inspired by Alaska's flag) as our checkpoints, making a dog sled (out of PVC pipe) that we packed (using Libby Reynold's book Storm Run ) and pretend with, visiting an opening of the Native American's of the Northwest exhibit at the National Museum of the Native American, and building an igloo using a site about suriving a Mount McKinley climb. We have learned so much about the Iditarod, dog sledding, Alaska and it's peoples and wildlife.
